ThreadReady Privacy Notice

Draft pending owner and legal review. This notice was revised to describe ThreadReady’s current behaviour, including the optional cloud artwork-enhancement step. It has not yet been reviewed by JakThread’s owner or a lawyer, and must be before customer launch.

1.Overview

This Privacy Notice applies specifically to ThreadReady, JakThread’s artwork-preparation and mockup utility. It explains what information ThreadReady collects, how it is used, and what is deliberately not collected.

2.Artwork Processing

Almost everything ThreadReady does happens inside your own browser, on your own device: background removal, halftone and lighter-print preparation, resizing, the shirt proof, and every file you download. That work does not send your artwork anywhere.

There is one exception, described in section 3.

3.Optional Cloud Artwork Enhancement

If your artwork is lower resolution than your chosen print size needs, ThreadReady can enlarge and clean it up. That is the only time anything leaves your browser.

It stays with JakThread. The enhancement runs on JakThread’s own Google Cloud account in the United States. No other company receives or processes your artwork.

You agree once. The first time you use ThreadReady it asks for your agreement before it will send anything, and that single agreement covers artwork sent for enlarging and cleanup from then on. You can withdraw this permission at any time from the “Withdraw” link beside “Artwork may be sent for enlarging & cleanup” at the foot of every screen. Withdrawing takes effect immediately: after it, we ask before any artwork leaves your device, and you can decline for any individual file.

Only the image is sent, over an encrypted connection. Your filename is not sent, and neither are your name, email address, job notes, garment choice or placement. It is held in memory while it is processed and returned to you rather than kept: there is no database or storage bucket in the account that runs it.

What is recorded: the request’s time, size, how long it took, whether it succeeded, and the IP address it came from. Never your artwork or your contact details. Google Cloud keeps these logs for 30 days, and some administrative audit records for 400 days.

4.Information Automatically Collected

ThreadReady uses Google Analytics 4, which may collect:

• anonymous or pseudonymous usage identifiers;
• device and browser information;
• approximate region;
• referring source;
• pages and utility events used; and
• session and engagement information.

5.ThreadReady Analytics Events

Usage actions that may be recorded include:

• utility opened;
• artwork uploaded successfully;
• Prep tool selected;
• background removal completed;
• Fine-tune opened or applied;
• processed PNG downloaded;
• Mockup opened;
• proof sheet downloaded;
• submission package downloaded; and
• Back to JakThread clicked.

6.Information Not Sent Through Analytics

ThreadReady’s analytics are designed not to send:

• artwork image contents;
• filenames;
• file paths;
• customer names;
• customer email addresses;
• customer notes; or
• exact custom garment colors.

7.Information Users Provide Separately

The name, email address, and job notes you type into the download step are written into the summary file that is saved to your own device. ThreadReady does not transmit them anywhere — not to JakThread, and not to the enhancement service in section 3.

Sending your job to JakThread is a separate step you take yourself, such as emailing the downloaded files. If you do email, upload, or otherwise send artwork or contact information to JakThread, that information may be used to review the job, communicate with you, quote, produce, or otherwise fulfil the requested service.

8.Cookies and Similar Technology

Google Analytics may use cookies or similar browser storage. Your browser’s privacy settings, extensions, or ad/tracker blockers, or clearing your cookies, may limit or prevent this analytics collection.

9.Third-Party Services and Links

ThreadReady relies on or links to separate third-party services:

• Google Cloud Platform — hosts the ThreadReady site itself (Google Cloud Run) and the optional artwork-enhancement service described in section 3.
• Google Analytics — usage measurement, described in sections 4 to 6.
• JakThread’s own store — linked from this utility, and may run on Shopify.

Each of those services has its own practices. Visiting ThreadReady does not, by itself, send your artwork to Shopify or to any other linked service, and never sends your artwork to Google Analytics.

10.Data Retention

Analytics information is retained according to JakThread’s Google Analytics configuration and the applicable service provider’s own settings.

Operational logs from the artwork-enhancement service are retained as described in section 3. Artwork sent for enhancement is processed in memory and returned to your browser; it is not placed in any storage system by ThreadReady’s own services.

11.Security

JakThread uses reasonable safeguards to protect information related to ThreadReady, but no browser, internet transmission, or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

12.Changes

This Privacy Notice may be updated from time to time. When it is, the “Last updated” date above will be changed.
